About the Presentation

With so many choices, why use regular, old salt?

Web fonts have been around in various forms for many years, and all major browsers have supported a variety of web font formats for nearly a decade. Despite widespread adoption of web fonts among design professionals, using web fonts has been a clumsy process for many content creators and downright difficult for online help authors. So, we tend to sprinkle in those safe and reliable—yet bland and stale—fonts like Ariel and Verdana, making our content look as appealing as yesterday’s meatloaf.

In this presentation, you’ll learn how to spice up your online help content with a dash of web fonts. We’ll cover the following topics:

  • Understanding how web fonts work
  • Understanding web font hosting options
  • Locating free and subscription-based web fonts
  • Using web fonts in Adobe RoboHelp and MadCap Flare projects

We probably won’t have time to fix your meatloaf though.

The DoubleTree Club offers complimentary valet parking. If you prefer to self-park, tell the valet that you’re at the hotel for an OCSTC meeting, and ask if you can park yourself.
